#1: Continue to be the Best Anti-Fraud Organization in the World

From the moment we began the ACFE more than 20 years ago, we have always maintained that we don’t want to be the biggest organization, or the fanciest, or the most exclusive. We simply want be the best. We strive to provide the best benefits, the best education, the best events, the best products and the best people around to assist a membership we are proud to say spans borders, cultures and professions.

As we look ahead to a promising year, I can’t help but reflect on the record-breaking year we had at the ACFE in 2011. We had more than 2,200 attendees at our ACFE Annual Fraud Conference in San Diego, Calif., last June, setting attendance at an all-time high. Our Asia-Pacific Fraud Conference took place for the first time in Singapore last October, and we welcomed a record-number of new CFEs to the organization. We launched a newly-designed ACFE.com and continue to hear how much easier the site is to navigate and how the updated look reflects our growing and changing membership.

I encourage those of you who have “Becoming a CFE” on your list of resolutions to take advantage of the resources and people we have available here at the ACFE to help you achieve your goal. Whether you need a coach, a Review Course, tips and tricks, an organized plan or just a learned ear, we are here to get you moving in the right direction.

So, while looking ahead is exciting and a necessary step to remaining the best anti-fraud organization in the world, we also look at the many achievements and changes we have made over the last year that remind us of all that can and will be accomplished in the years to come.

Here is a recap of exactly how we plan to remain on top:

  • Grow the ACFE Advisory Council
  • Continue to Provide New and Relevant Courses and Events
  • Expand Our International Presence
  • Improve the Design and Content in Fraud Magazine

After many months of testing, retesting and testing the retested, we have officially launched a newly-designed ACFE.com. We combined member feedback with the latest web design principles to make the site more useful and more valuable. Oh yeah, it looks good, too.

The new site features:

  • Improved navigation and search to make it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for
  • More ways to share, rate and respond to anti-fraud resources
  • Clean design that puts the most-used features at your fingertips

And, as usual, we’d love to get your feedback – email us at webmaster@acfe.com and let us know what you think! Enjoy!

Resolution #3: A New Year, A New Look for ACFE.com

#3: UPDATE & IMPROVE THE ACFE'S WEBSITE

The saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover” may hold true for the written word, but trying to coin the phrase, “don’t judge a website by its homepage” would be a difficult feat at a virtual conference in the online world. For most companies, the website homepage has become the modern day handshake or conversation piece hoping to make a solid first impression on visitors new and old.

THE NEW ACFE.COM

While we take great pride in our work to provide quality customer service to members that call the ACFE and even come by and visit our ACFE headquarters in Austin, we realize that members and those interested in fraud-fighting must be met with the same hospitality when they visit us online.

“Our overall goal is to make this site a premier destination for both experienced professionals and those new to the field,” Kevin Krainman, CFE, ACFE Web Strategist said. “We want our users to be able to easily access the training, education and information they need to advance in their careers.”

That is why we are excited to announce that we will be revamping, improving and updating our website, ACFE.com, later this year. We will be updating the look and feel of the site with a new design, improving navigation throughout the site and adding different features over the course of the year.

Stay tuned to ACFE Insights for updates and teasers of the new site. Have suggestions? Let us know in the “Comments” section.
